The New York Yankees GM has maintained the team’s decision ahead of the offseason trade…

The New York Yankees are still interested in trading for Dylan Cease.

The New York Yankees have maintained their active stance in the starting pitcher market throughout the offseason. Despite successfully acquiring Marcus Stroman and missing out on Yoshinobu Yamamoto, they are still keen on adding another arm to their rotation at the right price. One name on their radar is Dylan Cease from the Chicago White Sox, who has lingered on the trade block without gaining significant traction. However, the Yankees’ hesitation stems from their reluctance to part ways with top prospect Spencer Jones in any potential deal. As the regular season approaches, there remains a possibility for one final push to secure a trade.

While the Yankees strengthened their offense with the addition of Juan Soto, they recognize the need for improvement in various positions. Among those under scrutiny are Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Volpe, representing different points in their careers. Stanton, the seasoned slugger, has focused on physical conditioning during the offseason to enhance his performance and durability. On the other hand, Volpe, a sophomore shortstop, aims to capitalize on his promising debut season after impressing during spring training.

In a surprising move, former Yankee Lucas Luetge has joined the Boston Red Sox after a stint with the Atlanta Braves. Luetge was a notable contributor to the Yankees’ bullpen, but his performance dipped following his departure. It remains to be seen whether his return to the AL East will reignite his past success or if his peak performance was confined to his time in pinstripes.
