Texans HC issued a stunning comment as the Texans confirmed the signing of a Veteran safety to their 53-man roster before facing the Jets…

The Houston Texans, facing a shortage of healthy safeties due to injuries, have made a strategic move ahead of their crucial Week 14 matchup. With three safeties currently on the injured reserve, the team had limited options, relying on DeAndre Houston-Carson, Jalen Pitre, and Jimmie Ward as the sole available safeties. To bolster their roster, the Texans signed veteran safety Adrian Amos on Wednesday.

Amos, a seasoned player with nine years of experience, previously featured in 11 games for the New York Jets in the current season, making three starts. Interestingly, his signing comes just before the Texans face the Jets in their upcoming game, providing Amos with the opportunity to make an impact against his former team. In the 2023 season, his first outside the NFC, Amos has accumulated 23 tackles and defended one pass.

Originally drafted from Penn State in 2015, Amos spent his initial four professional seasons with the Chicago Bears before moving to the Green Bay Packers for the subsequent four campaigns. Armed with a career history that includes 10 interceptions, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and six sacks, Amos recorded 102 tackles in 2022.

As the Texans aim for a playoff berth, Amos joins their roster for the postseason push. Currently positioned just outside the AFC playoff picture due to a tiebreaker with the Colts, Houston is pursuing a wild-card spot and sits one game behind the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars.

With upcoming games against the Titans, Browns, and a crucial season finale against the Colts, the Texans have set the stage for a playoff return, and the addition of Adrian Amos adds depth and experience to their defensive lineup.
