Match of the Day pundits share a ‘nasty’ comment as they slam VAR after Sheffield United vs Wolves controversy…

Latest Wolves news from BirminghamLive as Gary O’Neil’s side fall to defeat at Sheffield United in a controversial manner.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were once again on the wrong end of incorrect VAR decisions as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United.

Last weekend, Newcastle were awarded a penalty under contentious circumstances by Anthony Taylor. The incident saw the referee demoted to a Championship game.

At Bramall Lane, a similar incident happened. Fabio Silva was adjudged to have fouled George Baldock while clearing the ball in the box. Following a VAR check, Oliver Norwood converted from the spot deep into stoppage time.

The decision left the Wolves faithful furious. Pundits Martin Keown and Danny Murphy both believe there is a clear lack of knowledge at the game.

“This is almost like deja-vu, it’s in the same part of the penalty box,” Keown said on Match of the Day. “Gary O’Neil’s heart must be in his mouth at this point and for me there, he pulls out.

“I think George Baldock puts his foot outside of the line and he pulls back. He pulls back and it’s incredible to be honest, and of course, this cost them any kind of result today.

While Murphy added: “They’re both really poor decisions and there’s a lack of knowledge at the game. The problem is, it’s encouraging people to keep trying to manipulate.

“The reality, both of those penalties [vs Sheffield and Newcastle] we’ve just seen, whoever dives, should get a yellow card. It’s the truth. But no doubt about the first one.”
