Browns finally announce several practice squad changes that amuse fans ahead of trade deadline…

The team has made changes to the practice squad by adding tackle Geron Christian, running back Kenyan Drake, and wide receiver James Proche, while parting ways with running back Nate McCrary and running back Jordan Wilkins. Furthermore, tackle Ty Nsekhe, who sustained a biceps injury during the Seahawks game on Sunday, has been placed on the practice squad/injured list.

Geron Christian, standing at 6-5 and weighing 315 pounds, will fill in for Nsekhe. He brings six seasons of NFL experience, having been originally drafted in the third round by Washington in 2018. Christian has played in 49 games with 16 starts for the Commanders (2018-20), Texans (2021, 2023), and Chiefs (2022). This season, he started one game for the Texans, contributing to their victory over the Steelers.

Kenyan Drake, a 6-1, 211-pound running back, was a third-round pick by Miami in 2016 and is an alumnus of the University of Alabama. He boasts 103 games played with 44 starts across the Dolphins, Cardinals, Raiders, and the Ravens. Throughout his career, Drake has accumulated 868 carries for 3,866 yards and 33 touchdowns, along with 218 receptions for 1,655 yards and eight touchdowns. In the current season, he has appeared in two games for the Ravens, making two receptions for 31 yards.

7 Realistic Browns Trade Targets at the Deadline

James Proche, standing at 5-11 and weighing 193 pounds, has also spent time with the Ravens and was drafted in the sixth round by Baltimore in 2020. He is entering his fourth season in the NFL and has participated in 43 games for the Ravens. In the previous season, he secured eight receptions for 62 yards in 15 games.

These changes to the practice squad coincide with one of the Browns’ significant moves of the afternoon: the trade of Donovan Peoples-Jones, a receiver drafted in the sixth round from Michigan in 2020, to the Lions in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 draft.
