Kyler Murray, the quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, shared his enthusiasm about this offseason, describing it as one of his best in years.
Murray stated on Wednesday, “It’s been great. This offseason feels like one of the best I’ve had in a long time because, firstly, I’m healthy, and secondly, I’m able to connect with the team and actively participate.”
Reflecting on last year, Murray contrasted the current experience with the previous offseason, where he was sidelined due to a torn ACL and subsequent rehabilitation. He highlighted the difference it makes to be actively involved in practices and team activities instead of just attending meetings and observing.
“Being out there with everyone, improving together on and off the field, has made this a really good offseason,” Murray added.

The contrast from last year is stark. Instead of rehabbing on the sidelines, Murray is fully engaged and healthy in 2024, allowing him to grasp the offense comprehensively. This early participation helps him and his teammates, both old and new, to build chemistry.
“There’s definitely a new energy and camaraderie around this team,” Murray noted. “I used to play with older guys, but now, being among peers closer to my age, it’s easier to bond and connect.”
Murray emphasized the importance of this connection, saying, “People often overlook how crucial this is. Growing together as a team has been really beneficial.”

This offseason has been particularly fruitful for Murray. He has strengthened his relationships with the new coaching staff and teammates and has actively taken part in team workouts. Most importantly, he seems to be enjoying the process.
Reflecting on his journey, Murray said, “It’s the natural progression of life. From being a rookie focused on improving each game to feeling comfortable in Year 2 and breaking out. Year 3 was great, but Year 4 was tough with injuries. Year 5 involved learning under a new regime and supporting the team. Now, entering Year 6, I’m really excited and grateful to be healthy again. Having the backing of the head coach and everyone around me, I firmly believe in what we can achieve.”

Although there are no awards for the best offseason, a strong start is vital for Murray and the Cardinals’ aspirations.
