Breaking: The Hurricanes Hit With Major Setback Ahead Of the 2024 Season…

Top 2025 Miami Football Prospects Sign NIL Deals with American Eagle

Key 2025 Miami football prospects, wide receivers Vernell Brown III and Jaime Ffrench, have signed name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals with American Eagle, as reported by On3.

Brown and Ffrench, top targets for Miami in the 2025 class, signed these deals following Florida’s recent legalization allowing high school athletes to secure endorsement contracts. The announcements were made official by their seven-on-seven program, South Florida Express, on its X page on Tuesday. The Florida High School Athletic Association Board of Directors passed this mandate unanimously after a 45-minute debate, effective from the 2024-25 school year.

Ffrench is one of 13 official visitors to Miami this weekend, while Brown will visit Coral Gables on Tuesday. Currently, Brown is leaning towards Ohio State, while Ffrench lists Texas, LSU, and Miami as his top choices in that order. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Ffrench is the 19th overall prospect, the fourth-ranked wide receiver, and the third-ranked player in Florida for the 2025 class. Brown III ranks as the 35th overall prospect, the sixth-ranked wide receiver, and the fifth-ranked player in Florida for 2025.

Flipping either Brown III or Ffrench from their expected commitments would be a significant win for Miami WR coach Kevin Beard and the Hurricanes’ staff. Ffrench emphasized the importance of NIL deals in his decision-making process, stating to On3, “You want to be taken care of anywhere you go.”

Florida is the 36th state to allow high school athletes to sign NIL deals, a major development for Miami’s recruitment strategies. Florida is known for producing top high school football talent, and Miami has been proactive in pursuing NIL deals. This change could benefit Miami’s recruitment efforts moving forward, as Brown and Ffrench continue to attract interest for further NIL opportunities.
