Breaking: Steelers Confirm Big Boost with the Addition of $43 Million Sensational Star…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a history of signing accomplished veteran defenders in recent offseasons.

Last summer, they added former All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson to their secondary, shortly after drafting cornerback Joey Porter Jr. in the second round. They also brought in Marcus Golden, who has since developed into a quality rotational pass-rusher.

Is Stephon Gilmore a Perfect Fit for the Pittsburgh Steelers?

As the Steelers look to strengthen their defense and add veteran stability to a secondary that faces quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes in the AFC, Stephon Gilmore could be an ideal free agent signing before the season starts.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine listed the best fits for the remaining NFL free agents, including Gilmore for the Steelers.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers could use a veteran to go with Joey Porter Jr. and Donte Jackson. They took a shot on Patrick Peterson last season, so they’ve moved on a veteran before,” Ballentine writes for B/R.

Gilmore would make sense from a leadership perspective and is coming off a strong season with the Dallas Cowboys.

Last season, Gilmore recorded a career-high 68 total tackles and two interceptions, finishing the 2023 campaign with a solid 72.3 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus and holding opposing quarterbacks to an 83.3 passer rating when targeting him.

Given the challenging lineup of quarterbacks and receivers the Steelers will face in their pursuit of a deep postseason run, Gilmore could be an ideal addition to their secondary.
