Breaking News: Tigers Head Coach Hugh Freeze Reacts to Big Boost as Another Sensational Star Commits to Auburn…

Auburn has secured the commitment of Northwestern State transfer safety Antwon Fegans Jr.

Although Auburn had largely wrapped up their work in the spring transfer portal window, Head Coach Hugh Freeze and his staff remained open to adding a defensive back. They found the right fit in former Arkansas State and Northwestern State safety Antwon Fegans Jr., who announced his commitment to Auburn on social media Wednesday evening.

Fegans Jr., a 3-star prospect from Oxford, Alabama, had offers from UAB, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and others. He began his career at Arkansas State, appearing in just four games over two seasons before transferring to Northwestern State. During the 2022 and 2023 seasons at Northwestern State, he played in six games, five of which were in the fall of 2023.

Fegans Jr. will join Auburn with three years of eligibility remaining, adding depth to the Tigers’ defensive backfield. His addition also strengthens the connection between Auburn and his younger brother, Anquon Fegans, a highly-touted 4-star safety in the class of 2025 and a major target for the Tigers.

Anquon Fegans, ranked as the 10th-best prospect in Alabama by 247Sports, holds offers from top programs including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
