Breaking News: Just In Head Coach Shared His Verdict On 3 new transfer targets Texas have scouted this week…

Coach Sarkisian Weighs In on Texas’ Latest Transfer Targets!

As the spring NCAA Transfer Portal nears its closure, Texas football remains active in scouting potential additions to its roster. Head Coach Steve Sarkisian has provided insight into the positions the team is focusing on as they seek to bolster their lineup before the upcoming SEC season.

The Longhorns have identified the need for additional depth along the front seven, particularly targeting impact defensive tackles to fortify their defensive line. Additionally, with recent departures from the portal, including junior cornerback Terrance Brooks and junior nickel Austin Jordan, Texas aims to replenish their cornerback roster with a notable transfer.

While Texas coaches express confidence in their current cornerback lineup post-spring ball, they remain vigilant in exploring potential reinforcements.

Here’s a glimpse at three promising transfer targets Texas has recently evaluated:

Derrick Harmon, DT: Texas is keenly eyeing Damonic Williams, a former TCU Horned Frogs junior defensive lineman, as their top priority among transfer defensive tackles. Williams recently completed a successful multi-day official visit with Texas, satisfying the team’s criteria for a potential addition. However, in the event of any setbacks with Williams, Texas is also considering former Michigan State Spartans transfer defensive tackles.

Reported by Texas Football’s Gerry Hamilton, the Longhorns have reached out to Derrick Harmon, another former Michigan State player. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 5 inches and 330 pounds, Harmon brings substantial experience to the table, having started multiple games during his tenure at Michigan State. With over 70 combined tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four sacks in his career, Harmon presents a compelling option for Texas’ defensive lineup.

His size and skill set align with Texas’ strategic objectives for the upcoming SEC season, making him a viable candidate for bolstering their defensive front.

As Texas navigates the final days of the spring transfer window, the pursuit of these targets underscores their commitment to enhancing their roster for the challenges ahead in the SEC.
