Good News:The Lightning have confirmed the signing of another experienced 21-year-old star to a 3-year contract…

The Lightning have officially inked another promising talent to a three-year deal, adding to their roster of young stars.

Announced on Monday, the team confirmed the signing of forward Dylan Duke from Michigan, one of their standout prospects from college hockey. The 21-year-old recently wrapped up his junior season with the Wolverines, where his contributions were instrumental in their journey to the Frozen Four. Serving as an alternate captain, Duke’s impressive performance earned him recognition as an All-Big Ten second-team selection, boasting 26 goals and 49 points in 41 games. Notably, he clinched victory for Michigan with two goals, including the game-winner, in a pivotal regional final match against Michigan State. Though their Frozen Four run concluded with a loss to Boston College in the semifinals, Duke’s impact on the ice was undeniable.

Set to kick off in the 2024-25 season, Duke’s contract with the Lightning marks a significant milestone in his professional career. However, before making his NHL debut, he will join the Lightning’s AHL affiliate in Syracuse this week on an amateur tryout, providing him with valuable experience at the professional level.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 181 pounds, Duke’s journey to the pros began when he was selected as the Lightning’s fourth-round pick (126th overall) in 2021. Prior to his time at Michigan, Duke honed his skills with the United States National Development Program team, showcasing his talent on the international stage as well. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Team USA’s bronze-medal finish at the 2023 World Juniors, contributing a goal and four assists in seven games.

His prowess was further evident in the 2021 World Under-18 Championships, where he netted three goals in five games for Team USA.

Dylan Duke participates in the Lightning's development camp last July at the TGH Ice Plex.

With Duke’s blend of skill and experience, his addition to the Lightning’s roster is poised to bolster their lineup, offering fans a glimpse of the promising future ahead for the team.
