Pat Maroon Makes ‘Really Excited’ Comment After Bruins’ Debut Vs. Penguins…

Pat Maroon Expresses Eagerness Ahead of Bruins Debut Against Penguins…

The anticipation surrounding Pat Maroon’s first appearance for the Boston Bruins is palpable. The veteran forward, boasting three Stanley Cup championships, is set to take to the ice against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.

In remarks shared with reporters via team-provided video, Maroon couldn’t contain his excitement. “I’m excited,” he exclaimed. “I’m really excited, actually. I’m really pumped just to get going here.”

Acquired by the Bruins from the Minnesota Wild just before the NHL trade deadline in March, Maroon had been sidelined since early February due to back surgery. After joining team practices on March 21, he’s been eagerly eyeing an opportunity to contribute before the postseason kicks off.

Facing the Penguins, a team vying for a playoff berth, presents an ideal challenge for Maroon. “It’s going to be a good test for myself,” he remarked. “This is a team that’s fighting for a playoff spot. It’s a great game to get into. Get me prepared and ready for the real stuff.”

Expected to join the fourth line alongside Jesper Boqvist and Jakub Lauko, Maroon sees an opportunity to complement the chemistry already established between his new teammates. He praised Lauko’s scrappy style and energy while highlighting Boqvist’s impressive offensive skills.

“I think we can complement each other well with my size, protecting the puck down low, creating some offense, and creating some space for those two,” Maroon assessed.

Looking ahead to the remaining games in the regular season, Maroon is eager to maximize his time on the ice. “There’s three games remaining,” he noted optimistically. “I’m going to try to play all three. It’s up to the coaches, too, what they want to do. My goal is to play this game, get through it first, and then try to go from there.

“I’m really excited. I’m really just excited to get in the locker room with the guys and go on the ice with them.”
