O’s 19-year-old forward has a two-word message as he reflects on loan spell…

“Enjoyable Stint” – Watford’s Shaq Forde Reflects on Productive Loan Period at Leyton Orient.

Shaq Forde, the forward from Watford, has expressed his delight with his loan spell at Leyton Orient this season, describing it as a highly rewarding experience.

Last summer, Leyton Orient secured the services of the 19-year-old forward after their promotion to League One.

Under the guidance of Richie Wellens, Forde has showcased his talent, featuring in 37 matches across various competitions, contributing nine goals and two assists to the team’s cause.

Speaking via his parent club’s official website, Forde shared his thoughts, stating, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here. It’s been a significant learning curve for me.”

He continued, highlighting the level of competition he encountered, saying, “Apart from perhaps my debut for Watford, this has been the toughest challenge for me. The quality of play in this league has tested me both physically and technically, which has been incredibly beneficial.”

Expressing his satisfaction with his progress, Forde added, “I believe I’m making strides in the right direction. The coaches at Watford keep in touch, particularly after I’ve found the back of the net.”

Forde’s presence has undoubtedly bolstered Leyton Orient’s squad, aiding their transition into League One following their League Two title win last season.

Wellens’ side is currently in good form, trailing the playoff spots by a mere five points with seven matches remaining. Their upcoming fixture against Lincoln City presents an opportunity to further their ambitions, albeit against a formidable opponent.

For Forde, who has been associated with Watford throughout his career, progressing through their academy ranks, this loan stint marks a significant step in his development.

His journey into senior football commenced with a solitary appearance for Watford in an FA Cup fixture against Leicester City back in 2022. Subsequently, he gained valuable experience during loan spells at Kings Langley and York City, where he showcased his goal-scoring prowess.

Transitioning to the challenges of League One has been a notable achievement for Forde, who aims to conclude his time at Leyton Orient on a positive note.
