The Seattle Mariners have acquired versatile player Samad Taylor from the Kansas City Royals. The trade, which took place on Tuesday, involved the Mariners sending a player to be named later or cash considerations to the Royals.

Taylor, who can play both the infield and outfield positions, made his debut in the majors last season with the Royals, participating in 31 games. During this time, he posted a batting average of.200 and scored 11 runs while stealing eight bases. Prior to his call-up, Taylor demonstrated impressive performance at Triple-A Omaha, batting.302 across 89 games, with 23 doubles, 55 RBIs, and an.884 OPS, showcasing his potential.

Despite being just 25 years old, Taylor showcased his versatility by playing four different positions for the Royals after his call-up. He played in 15 games in left field, 12 at second base, two at third base, and one in center field.

Originally drafted in the 10th round by Cleveland in 2016 straight out of high school, Taylor’s journey to the major leagues has been marked by his adaptability and consistent performance.
