Raiders Ask Titans about Possibility of Trade Involving First-Round Picks in NFL Draft…

The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly reached out to the Tennessee Titans regarding the potential of swapping first-round picks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. The Titans currently hold the 7th overall pick, with many draft analysts projecting them to select an offensive tackle like Joe Alt from Notre Dame or possibly a wide receiver such as Rome Odunze from Washington or Malik Nabers from LSU. On the other hand, the Raiders are in need of a quarterback and have shown interest in Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, who is rising up draft boards beyond their reach.

According to reports, Raiders general manager Tom Telesco has been in discussions with multiple teams holding higher draft picks, including the Los Angeles Chargers (5th pick), New York Giants (6th pick), and the Tennessee Titans. The aim behind such potential trades is to position the Raiders for either further trade-ups or to secure a player in another crucial position, primarily targeting a quarterback like McCarthy.

The Titans, however, have the advantage of a deep draft pool, particularly in positions like wide receiver and offensive line. This flexibility allows them to consider moving back in the draft while still acquiring quality talent and additional picks to address their needs after consecutive losing seasons.

Titans general manager Ran Carthon expressed openness to exploring trade offers, emphasizing the importance of accumulating draft picks to build a competitive team for sustained success. He stressed the significance of the draft in constructing a winning roster and affirmed the team’s willingness to consider all options to improve their situation.
