Gary O’Neil has provided an update on Matheus Cunha ahead of trip to Spurs…

O’Neil updates Cunha’s injuries…

An update on Matheus Cunha, who suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday’s loss to Brentford at Molineux, has been given by Gary O’Neil.

After being forced to exit the game in the 20th minute, the Brazilian had several scans and tests earlier this week.

In a statement on Wednesday, O’Neil stated: “His hamstring injury is fairly significant.” It doesn’t have a timetable. Matheus and I have chatted extensively, and he is determined to return as soon as possible.

Since he has already begun working on it, we will simply keep an eye on it day by day and week by week to see how far he can progress and how soon we can get him back. He’s eager to return to the field as soon as possible.

“We, the team, and Matheus are understandably devastated by this news because of the incredible work he has been doing. His form was outstanding. Every squad has injuries from time to time. We persevered through Channy’s more than month-long absence due to the Asian Cup, now we must continue without Matheus.
