Huskers announce transfer Dante Dowdell is officially part of the program…

Nebraska announced that one of its transfer additions is officially part of the program.

Nebraska has officially welcomed transfer Dante Dowdell into its football program, as announced by the Nebraska football Twitter account. Dowdell, a recent addition from the transfer portal, committed to Nebraska on January 6 after choosing the Huskers over Mississippi State following an official visit to Lincoln.

Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 215 pounds, Dowdell, a running back from Oregon, played six games as a freshman with the Ducks. During this time, he accumulated 17 carries for 90 yards, showcasing his skills prominently in the first game of the season with eight carries for 55 yards and his sole touchdown.

Dowdell, along with other January enrollees for the Huskers, is set to start winter conditioning workouts upon arrival on campus this weekend. Notably, Dowdell was recognized as a four-star transfer with an overall rating of 90 by 247Sports, ranking him as the 114th overall player and the 11th running back in the portal.

Having been a four-star prospect and the 9th-ranked running back in the 2023 recruiting class, Dowdell now looks forward to utilizing his four-year eligibility at Nebraska, providing the team with his talents for the upcoming seasons.
