Estonian basketball sensation Henri Drell has secured a significant milestone in his career by signing a two-way contract with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls. The 23-year-old player, who had the option to return to Europe this summer, expressed that his decision to remain with the Bulls’ G League affiliate, Windy City Bulls, over the past two seasons has proven to be a wise choice.
Renowned NBA journalist Shams Charania reported the signing, with Drell’s agent, Matt Bollero, confirming the two-way contract. Drell has been a key player for the Windy City Bulls in the last two seasons, showcasing his skills in 11 games this season with an average playing time of 28 minutes. During these appearances, he has maintained an impressive performance record, averaging 12.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
Recalling the moment when he learned about the Bulls’ contract offer, Drell shared the excitement during a G-League Sunday broadcast. Coach Henry Domercant called him into his office after a game and practice session, initially raising concerns, only to reveal the contract offer, marking a pivotal moment in Drell’s career.
