The Buffalo Bills haven’t played their best in recent weeks, but coach Sean McDermott still has complete faith in his team.

For a should-be Super Bowl contender, the Buffalo Bills have had an underwhelming season.
Buffalo is currently outside the AFC playoff picture at 5-4, having already lost more games than it did all of last season. Unsurprisingly, many Bills fans have grown frustrated with their team’s struggles, with some believing they are getting further away from a Super Bowl title.
Despite the inconsistencies, coach Sean McDermott still has confidence in his team to right the ship.
“Confident,” McDermott told reporters. “Confident in our team, confident in our coaches, confident in our players, confident in our staff. Doesn’t mean we don’t have work to do, doesn’t mean we don’t have a gap to close — and there’s different things that make up that gap — so we’ve got to continue to drill down on those areas and play better as an overall team, complementary-wise, and reset some things that we to reset.”

McDermott isn’t going to bury his head in the sand and pretend that there aren’t any problems. The seventh-year coach made it abundantly clear that he, his staff and his players are working to correct the issues that have plagued them recently.
“We go back and reteach certain things, or reestablish certain things this time of year,” McDermott said. “When you’re going through things, even when you’re not going through things, it’s the right thing to do. My confidence remains high in our group.”
One key to success for any team is buy-in, but with the Bills’ recent struggles, it’s fair to say that some confidence waned. However, McDermott is still committed to making sure everyone is fully on-board.
“Every year, you feel like you’re banging your head against the wall,” said McDermott. “Every year is hard. But the belief is important.”
