Liam Rosenior’s reactions amid Hull City’s new contract offer amid ‘interest from elsewhere…

Promotion-chasing Hull City are looking to tie Liam Rosenior down to a new contract.

Head coach Liam Rosenior has been offered a new Hull City contract, Hull Live understands. It is believed Rosenior’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2025, with a one-year club option.

Rosenior recently celebrated his one-year anniversary at the MKM Stadium. Report in the national media claim Rosenior is attracting interest from elsewhere, having transformed the Tigers’ fortunes.

City were languishing in the lower reaches of the Championship when Rosenior took over last year but he guided the club to a mid-table finish. Not only has the 39-year-old revamped City’s playing style, but he has turned them into genuine promotion contenders. City currently sit ninth in the Championship, just two points outside of the play-off positions.

Speaking to this publication last week, vice-chairman Tan Kesler said: “I’m not afraid that he [Rosenior] will be approached and I’m not afraid that other clubs will be interested in him, and neither is the chairman. I know most of the clubs’ chief executives and chairmen, I’m good at establishing relationships and I communicate with them regularly so I know they’ve praised Liam’s performance.

“We don’t wake up every day in fear that our coach is going to leave us and what may happen. We look at it as ‘what a great opportunity for him’ but I know one hundred per cent that our coach in his first year wants to complete this success story. He wants to stay in it as long as he can to do it for us.

“This is the key for our fans to understand. This is a group where everybody has to stay together. We look at him as very special because he took us from a very tough spot and in a short time to bring it here (to the play-offs). Everybody had roles in this that were very critical.

“I’d love to work with Liam in the long-term and you’ll see as a club we’ll take steps towards that very quickly. The chairman is so happy with him, and all these players we have are putting together an amazing show so we should keep it, preserve it, we should make sure they’re mentally stable and not thinking who is coming and who is going, that family environment.”
