Roy Hodgson makes honest claims as Key Crystal Palace talent steps up fitness bid ahead of Tottenham’s showdown…

Matheus Franca is increasing his efforts to regain full fitness in preparation for Crystal Palace’s upcoming clash with Tottenham. The exciting £26 million summer signing is set to participate in a match for the Crystal Palace Under-23s against Monaco on Tuesday.

Franca, who had been sidelined with a back injury, made his debut for Palace as a late substitute in the Premier League match against Newcastle last Saturday, at the start of the season.

Palace is currently facing an absence of creativity due to injuries sustained by Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze. As a result, the 19-year-old Brazilian is looking to play a more significant role in the upcoming match against Spurs.

Franca has been included in the Crystal Palace Under-23 squad for a Premier League International Cup fixture against Monaco, which will take place at the VBS Community Stadium, the home ground of Sutton United.

Before the Newcastle game, Roy Hodgson, the manager of Crystal Palace, expressed his expectations for Franca: “We believe he will play a significant role for Crystal Palace, but we don’t want to rush him, especially considering he only recovered from his injury ten days ago.”

The Palace Under-23 squad to face Monaco also includes Nathan Ferguson, Naouirou Ahamada, and Remi Matthews.
