‘Fascinating’: What fan Need to Know about Texans Rookie Quarterback CJ Stroud…

*Everyone it seems is talking about Texans rookie quarterback CJ Stroud, but that doesn’t mean everyone knows him well. Many know his name, but not him.

From just a contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Stroud has evolved into a potential Most Valuable Player (MVP) candidate, thanks to the endless impressive performance he keeps displaying.

Stroud was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He is the youngest of four siblings, and also the most famous. There is sad detail in his story. Stroud’s father, Coleridge Bernard Stroud III, was sentenced to 38 years to life after pleading guilty to kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery related to a drug-related incident under California’s three-strikes law in 2016. The father has been incarcerated since CJ was in middle school and is currently serving his sentence at Folsom State Prison near Sacramento.

That said, let’s now talk about Stroud himself. The 22-year-old National Football League player has perfected the art of working under pressure, making critical decisions in crucial moments. For his admirers, this has qualified him for the MVP consideration.

But how did Stroud’s journey begin? It began during his college years at Ohio State, where his outstanding talents were noticed and nurtured. He achieved numerous records while at the school. Apart from setting the record as the first player to throw for six touchdowns on three separate occasions, he also achieved the most passing yards in a single game with an impressive 573 yards — a new record.

In 2021 and 2022, CJ Stroud was a Heisman Trophy finalist. In the 2023 NFL Draft, he was selected as the second overall pick by the Houston Texans.
