The Houston Astros have just sent a clear message to the rest of Major League Baseball: they’re not backing down in the chase for another championship.
In a stunning move finalized late Friday night, the Astros pulled off a blockbuster trade to acquire veteran slugger and five-time All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernández from the Seattle Mariners, adding a power-packed, physically dominant presence to an already elite lineup.
The deal, confirmed by multiple league sources, sends outfield prospect Kenni Gomez and left-handed pitcher Colton Gordon to Seattle in exchange for Hernández, who has long been admired for his raw strength, veteran savvy, and clutch postseason performances.
