Legia Warsaw Bolsters Defense with Romanian Talent Ottó Hindrich

WARSAW, PL – In a move designed to shore up a leaking defense and climb out of the Ekstraklasa relegation zone, Legia Warsaw has officially completed the signing of Romanian goalkeeper Ottó Hindrich from CFR Cluj.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper joins the “Soldiers” on a permanent deal worth approximately €600,000, ending weeks of speculation regarding his future. Hindrich has committed to a long-term future at the Polish capital, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2030.

A Strategic Addition

The transfer follows a period of intense negotiation. Reports from Romania suggested that CFR Cluj initially rebuffed Legia’s attempts to secure Hindrich on a loan basis. However, following the intervention of Legia’s management and an increased permanent offer, the deal was finalized earlier this week.

Standing at 1.93m (6’4″), Hindrich brings a commanding physical presence to the penalty area. Despite his youth, he arrives with significant experience, having made 62 appearances for CFR Cluj and earning a reputation as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the Romanian SuperLiga.

Immediate Impact Expected

Hindrich has already integrated into the squad, joining the team at their winter training camp in Marbella to undergo medical testing and begin tactical drills under manager Marek Papszun.

His arrival comes at a critical juncture for Legia, who currently sit in a dismal 17th place in the league. With 21 goals conceded in 18 matches, the pressure is on for Hindrich to provide the stability needed to keep the club in the top flight.
