Florida State football just scored a massive recruiting victory that’s sending shockwaves across the college football landscape.
The Seminoles have officially landed a commitment from Ohio’s No. 1 offensive lineman, four-star standout Elijah “E.J.” Montgomery, in a move that further solidifies FSU’s dominance on the recruiting trail in 2025. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound anchor from Cleveland made his decision public on Friday morning, choosing the Noles over heavyweights like Ohio State, Michigan, and Alabama.
“Florida State just felt like home,” Montgomery said during his announcement. “Coach Atkins and Coach Norvell made me feel like a priority from day one, and I want to be part of something special in Tallahassee.”
Montgomery, ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in Ohio and a top-10 interior lineman nationally by multiple recruiting outlets, brings a rare blend of power, footwork, and leadership to the line of scrimmage. He has earned widespread praise for his dominance at the point of attack, his elite hand placement, and his ability to pull and move in space—making him a perfect fit for Florida State’s up-tempo, run-heavy offense.
His film has drawn comparisons to past Seminole greats, and scouts believe he has early playing potential once he arrives on campus.
This commitment marks yet another major win for head coach Mike Norvell and offensive line coach Alex Atkins, who continue to build a pipeline into the Midwest while assembling one of the top offensive line classes in the country. Montgomery becomes FSU’s third top-150 national prospect in the 2025 class and adds even more firepower to a group already being praised for its size, versatility, and ceiling.
