BREAKING NEWS: Padres Officially Confirm the Return Of The 26-year-old Veteran Slugger To Boost Squad Amid Recent Injuries Woes…

In a timely boost to their battered lineup, the **San Diego Padres have officially announced the return of 26-year-old veteran slugger Luis Campusano, providing much-needed offensive firepower as the team battles through a wave of key injuries.

After a stint on the injured list due to a nagging hamstring strain, Campusano has been activated and is expected to rejoin the starting lineup immediately, according to a team statement released Friday morning.

“Luis has worked hard to get back, and we’re excited to have his bat and leadership in the clubhouse again,” said Padres manager Mike Shildt. “With the injuries we’ve been dealing with, his return is a big spark for us.”

The Padres have recently lost multiple key contributors, including Xander Bogaerts and Fernando Tatis Jr., both sidelined with lingering ailments. Campusano’s return could not come at a better time. Prior to his injury, the catcher/designated hitter hybrid was slashing a solid .287/.335/.468 with 9 home runs and 34 RBIs in 54 games — and was emerging as a critical piece in the middle of San Diego’s order.

Known for his pop at the plate and calm presence behind it, Campusano has steadily grown into a clubhouse leader and has been praised for his resilience and work ethic throughout the rehab process.

“The timing couldn’t be better,” said Padres GM A.J. Preller. “We need Luis now more than ever, and he’s 100% ready.”

With the NL Wild Card race tightening and the Padres fighting to stay in postseason contention, Campusano’s return could play a major role in stabilizing the lineup and regaining momentum.

He is expected to start in Saturday’s series opener at Petco Park, much to the excitement of fans eager to see one of their rising stars back in action.
