The Denver Broncos continue to make waves in the NFL offseason with another major acquisition, as the team has officially signed 31-year-old Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill, after he rejected a four-year contract offer from the Los Angeles Rams.
In a move that stunned the league, Hill — widely regarded as America’s No. 1 deep-threat receiver — chose to take his elite speed and championship experience to the Mile High City, inking a 3-year deal worth a reported $66 million, with $46 million guaranteed.
This bold signing comes as part of a full-scale transformation in Denver under head coach Sean Payton, who is reshaping the offense with elite playmakers and proven veterans to immediately push the Broncos back into playoff contention.
“We’re building something special here, and Tyreek’s a huge part of that,” Payton said in a brief statement. “He brings a game-breaking presence to our offense and will change how teams have to defend us.”
Hill, a seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, posted 1,679 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024 despite Miami’s inconsistent quarterback play. The Rams were believed to be the frontrunners for his services, reportedly offering a four-year deal, but Hill ultimately chose Denver — citing scheme fit, coaching stability, and a fresh challenge.
“I love what Coach Payton is doing, and I’m ready to win big in Denver,” Hill said in his introductory press conference. “This team has heart, and I want to be the spark.”
The addition of Hill gives the Broncos an electric 1-2 punch alongside wideout Courtland Sutton and adds a massive weapon for Denver’s evolving quarterback room, which is expected to feature veteran Zach Wilson and rookie standout KJ Jefferson competing for the starting job.
With this signing following the blockbuster acquisition of pass rusher Brian Burns earlier this week, the Broncos are clearly all-in on winning now — and the rest of the AFC is taking notice.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, are left scrambling after failing to retain one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in football, and the Rams are left disappointed after falling short in a high-stakes bidding war.
But in Denver, the message is clear: the Broncos are back — and they’re not done yet.
