In a huge recruiting win for Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers, 5-star forward Sean Stewart has officially committed to Auburn Basketball, sending waves through the college basketball landscape and electrifying the Auburn fanbase.
Stewart, a former Duke Blue Devil and McDonald’s All-American, announced his decision via social media on Saturday afternoon, stating his excitement to join a program that “believes in toughness, growth, and winning.”
“Auburn felt like home,” Stewart said. “Coach Pearl and his staff have shown real belief in what I can bring to the table. I’m ready to compete, grow, and win with this group.”
A dynamic 6-foot-9 forward known for his elite athleticism, rebounding, and defensive versatility, Stewart instantly becomes one of the most high-impact additions to the Tigers’ roster for the upcoming season. His ability to run the floor, finish at the rim, and guard multiple positions fits perfectly into Pearl’s fast-paced, high-pressure system.
Sources close to the Auburn program say Stewart’s commitment was the result of a strong relationship built with the coaching staff, along with a clear development plan and opportunity to take on a major role immediately.
“Sean is the kind of player who changes the game on both ends,” one Auburn assistant said. “This is a huge day for our program.”
Originally ranked as one of the top forwards in his class, Stewart entered the transfer portal following his freshman season at Duke, where he flashed his potential in limited minutes. With a fresh start at Auburn, he’ll look to showcase his full arsenal and elevate his NBA draft stock in the process.
Stewart’s commitment also signals Auburn’s continued momentum on the recruiting trail, as the Tigers retool with elite talent following the departures of key veterans.
With Sean Stewart now officially on board, Auburn Basketball’s future just got a whole lot brighter.
